Problem Statement

We conducted interviews with 30 participants who had experience with online therapy platforms. Key pain points included difficulty finding the right therapist, a confusing booking process, and a lack of transparent pricing.

Market Research

Talkspace can be expensive, and it may not be covered by insurance Wysa is a chatbot, and it is not a replacement for professional help. Additionally, some people may not feel comfortable talking to a chatbot. Calm and Headspace are meditation and mindfulness apps, and they are not a replacement for professional help.

Expert Profiles: Users can browse detailed profiles of mental health professionals, which include photos, biographies, areas of expertise, and languages spoken, along with user ratings to help make informed decisions.

Booking System: The app provides a streamlined process for scheduling appointments, showing real-time availability and allowing for both single and multiple session bookings

Payment Integration and Wallet integration: After selecting a session, users can securely process payments using various methods, including credit cards and digital wallets, with transparent cost breakdowns.

Personalized Home page: The TherapyEase app's home screen is designed for ease and engagement, featuring direct access to upcoming appointments. It also showcases available service packs like Depression Counselling and Anxiety Therapy for quick browsing and booking, along with a section highlighting expert therapists.

Community Engagement: A community tab encourages users to connect, share their experiences, and access peer support, enhancing the therapeutic journey within the app

Feedback indicated that the app significantly enhances users' ability to access mental health services efficiently, contributing positively to their overall wellness journey. Participants described the app as a valuable and reliable tool in managing their mental health needs.

Takeaways

This project centered on user research and understanding user needs. By focusing on users, the right solutions tend to emerge naturally. Through interviews with students and surveys, I was able to gather diverse perspectives and uncover potential solutions.

Given more time, I would have expanded the survey to include responses from a larger number of students. Additionally, I believe I could have developed both a website version and a mobile platform for the application.

Presenting my application to the school was a particularly proud moment. Hearing a school official express enthusiasm and commit to implementing actionable changes was incredibly rewarding. It reinforced my understanding that the role of a UX designer goes beyond creating innovative ideas—it involves enhancing everyday experiences within the community through thoughtful design.
